Job summary

A well-established industrial automation organization is looking for a PLC Controls Engineer to join their technical team. This position offers involvement with troubleshooting PLC-based control systems and designing control systems for various industrial applications. Candidates should have over 2 years of relevant experience, particularly with Allen-Bradley PLCs and HMIs, and possess strong communication skills. A degree in Electrical Engineering is nice to have. This role is based in Telford, Pennsylvania.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in PLC controls, automation engineering, or a related role.
• Proven troubleshooting skills and ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Comfortable with reading and creating AutoCAD electrical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and support PLC-based control systems, including drives and HMIs.
• Design, program, and modify control systems for industrial applications.
• Provide remote and on-site technical assistance to customers.

A well-established industrial automation organization is seeking a PLC Controls Engineer to join its growing technical team. This role offers hands‑on involvement with complex control systems, customer‑facing problem solving, and the opportunity to work across a variety of industrial environments.

What You’ll Do

Troubleshoot and support PLC‑based control systems, including drives, HMIs, networks, and related components

Design, program, and modify control systems for industrial applications

Develop and interpret electrical and control documentation

Build and support control panels in compliance with applicable codes and standards

Perform system startup, commissioning, and on‑site support as needed

Provide remote and on‑site technical assistance to customers

Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to resolve complex automation challenges

Identify technical risks and contribute to practical, reliable solutions

What We’re Looking For

2+ years of experience in PLC controls, automation engineering, or a related role

Strong experience with Allen‑Bradley PLCs and HMIs

Proven troubleshooting skills and ability to work with minimal supervision

Comfortable reading and creating AutoCAD electrical drawings

Strong verbal and written communication skills (English required)

Organized, detail‑oriented, and customer‑focused

Valid driver’s license and ability to travel occasionally

Nice to Have (Not Required)

Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or similar field

Experience with additional PLC platforms (Siemens, Mitsubishi, Omron, etc.)

Motion control or electrical construction background

Strong industrial networking and IT fundamentals
