Job summary

Inframark is seeking a PLC Application Engineer to design, program, test, and commission PLC solutions for water and wastewater facilities. You’ll work with HMI, OT, and Field Services to deliver robust control systems and reliable operations.

The role requires 3–6 years of PLC programming/commissioning in industrial settings and expertise with Rockwell/Siemens toolchains, plus the ability to read P&IDs and electrical schematics. Office/remote work with site travel is expected.

Qualifications

  • 3–6 years of PLC programming/commissioning experience in utilities or industrial environments.
  • Proficiency with Rockwell/Allen‑Bradley and Siemens toolchains; understanding of networking protocols (EtherNet/IP, Modbus, DNP3).
  • Ability to read P&IDs and electrical schematics and produce documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Develop PLC programs (Rockwell/Allen‑Bradley, Siemens) based on P&IDs, I/O lists, and control narratives.
  • Perform bench testing, simulation, and FAT; support SAT, startup, and operator training.
  • Integrate instrumentation and VFDs; implement alarming, interlocks, and failsafes; document as‑builts.
  • Collaborate with HMI and OT teams on communications, security, and performance.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshoot issues during and after deployment.

Position Summary

Key Responsibilities

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

Primarily office/remote environment with travel to facilities, project sites, and client/vendor meetings as needed.
