Job Description

TITLE : CAFETERIA MONITOR

QUALIFICATIONS :

• Able to read, speak, and comprehend basic English.
• High School Degree.
• Must pass criminal background check.

REPORTS TO: Site Principal or Assistant Principal

JOB GOAL : Supervise students during lunch recess; additional duties may be required by site principal or assistant principal.

WORKING CONDITIONS :

• This job requires employees to be outdoors when weather permits.
• Indoor supervision is required when inclement weather prevents outdoor recess.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Supervise students during lunch recess.
• Inform designated school personnel of any disciplinary problems caused by students. It is not the responsibility of the monitor to discipline students unless so directed by the site principal.
• Interact with students and fellow staff in a positive manner.
• Enforce school building regulations.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

• 173 day work calendar, only on school days
• Hourly, non-exempt support
