Job summary

Chromalloy in Kentucky is seeking a skilled Platinum Electroplater to apply precision platinum coatings to aerospace components, ensuring compliance with engineering specs and industry standards. This is an hourly union position (Local 475) with a 2nd shift schedule.

Starting pay is $31.60/hr with a 10% premium for 2nd shift, 3:00pm–11:00pm, Monday–Friday. The role requires reading drawings, measuring thickness, maintaining safety, and documenting production and quality records.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be fluent in English, (speaking, reading, writing).
• Experience in manufacturing or aerospace environment.
• Ability to read technical drawings and specifications.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical and measurement concepts to support plating operations, including thickness calculations, current density adjustments, and process control checks.
• Strong attention to detail and process discipline.
• Comfortable working with chemicals and PPE.

Responsibilities

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Platinum Electroplater. In this role, you will apply precision platinum coatings to critical components, ensuring compliance with strict engineering specifications, OEM requirements, and industry quality standards.

This is an hourly Union position and requires joining Local 475.

Pay rate is $31.60/hr with an additional 10% premium for working 2nd shift hours

2nd shift is Monday through Friday 3:00pm - 11:00pm

What We're Looking For

Required:

Preferred:

• 1-2 years experience in electroplating or metal finishing
• Familiarity with AS9100, NADCAP, or OEM standards preferred
• Knowledge of plating chemistry and process control

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods
• Ability to lift up to 25-30 lbs
• Ability to work around chemicals and plating tanks with proper PPE

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to a typical manufacturing environment. The employee may also occasionally be exposed to moderate cold and moderate heat. Exposure to the production facility includes loud noise, fumes, and moving equipment.
