Job summary

Valence is seeking a Vacuum Chamber Operator/Production Technician to join our manufacturing team. You will follow procedures, load and operate vacuum chambers to coat parts with aluminum, and inspect parts before and after coating.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma, strong attention to detail, self-motivation, good communication, and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a dynamic, team-oriented environment. Night shifts and overtime may be required.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Follow written and verbal instructions in English.
• Review and follow procedures as outlined on job cards indicating customer specification.
• Fill and operate Vacuum Chambers to coat parts in aluminum per the required specifications.
• Inspect masked/taped parts prior to coating.
• Coat test pieces and convey to lab and Quality Department for inspection per customer specifications.
• Take dimensional measurements after base/final coating is applied and inspect thickness of coated parts.
• Work in a dynamic, fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Communicate and work well in a diverse environment.
• Assist in daily maintenance and quarterly cleaning of Vacuum Chambers.
• Maintain regular attendance and punctuality.
• May require to work nights, limited weekends, variable schedules, and additional hours as necessary.
• Fill out related paperwork accurately (routers/records).
• Keep the work area clean and adhere to safety rules and PPE usage.

• Inspects masked/taped parts prior to coating.
• Coats test pieces and convey to lab and Quality Department for inspection per customer specifications.
• Takes dimensional measurement after base/final coating is applied; Inspects thickness of coated parts.
• Work in a dynamic, fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Communicate and work well in a diverse environment.
• Other duties as required including assisting in the daily maintenance and quarterly cleaning of our Vacuum Chambers.
• Regular, consistent, and punctual attendance is required.
• May need to work nights, limited weekends, variable schedule(s), and additional hours as necessary.
• Must be able to fill out all related paperwork, i.e., routers and/or internal records, accurately.
• Keep work area clean.
• Adhere to all company safety rules and practices and wears protective equipment as directed.
• Must be able to sit, stand, reach, stoop, or kneel.
• Must be physically able to regularly lift parts of 10 lbs. or more.
