Job summary

Samtec, Inc. is seeking a plating operator to operate reel-to-reel or barrel plating equipment on the 3rd shift (Wed-Fri, 5:45 pm–5:45 am).

The role focuses on producing high quantities with accuracy while protecting surfaces with gold, nickel, or tin coatings. You will read assembly drawings, set up machines, and immerse parts in liquid metals for specified times, then verify quality and maintain a clean, safe work area.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Some technical education is desired.
• On-the-job training provided.

Position at Samtec, Inc. Shift: Wednesday - Friday from 5:45 pm to 5:45 am (3rd shift).

Summary / Objective:

To operate reel-to-reel or barrel plating equipment to produce the highest achievable quantity with a high degree of accuracy.

Essential Functions / Responsibilities

• Set up and operate plating machines to coat metal products with gold, nickel, matte tin, or other metal to protect product surfaces.
• Immerse workpieces in liquid metal for specified times.
• Read assembly drawings and manufacture parts accordingly.
• Think critically and pay close attention to detail. Strong organizational skills.
• Additional tasks may be assigned based on strengths and capabilities.

Required Experience

• At least one year experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience working with chemicals is preferred.
• Attention to detail and organizational skills are required.
• Lifting requirement: must be able to lift up to 50 pounds frequently.
• Hazards: exposure to noise and chemicals; protective gear, including safety glasses, is required.

Preferred Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Some technical education is desired.

Training Required

• On-the-job training as appropriate.
