Job summary

Aveni is redefining how financial institutions use AI, building production‑ready agentic systems for end‑to‑end workflows. We are seeking a Technical Lead to own core platform services, guide architecture, ensure reliability, and mentor a team of engineers working across ingestion, APIs, and multi‑tenancy in a highly regulated environment.

Qualifications

• > Significant software engineering experience with a track record of technical leadership and architectural decision‑making.
• - Deep production experience with Node.js across backend, API and distributed systems.
• - Strong experience designing and operating cloud‑native systems on AWS.
• - Experience building event‑driven architectures and asynchronous distributed systems.
• - Designing production systems with multi‑tenancy, data isolation or data lifecycle requirements.
• - Experience integrating with third‑party APIs and handling rate limits, retries and reconciliation.
• - Understanding reliability, observability, security and operational ownership.
• - Ability to communicate architectural trade‑offs clearly to teams and stakeholders.
• - Track record of mentoring engineers and raising engineering standards.
• - Willingness to stay hands‑on while providing technical direction.

Responsibilities

• > Own the technical architecture and direction of Aveni’s core platform services.
• - Design and build scalable, event‑driven services on AWS.
• - Evolve client‑data ingestion capabilities enabling onboarding via configuration.
• - Build and maintain APIs for consistent data consumption across products.
• - Design robust multi‑tenant systems with strong data isolation and security controls.
• - Lead data lifecycle management including retention and GDPR considerations.
• - Integrate with third‑party platforms with proper fault handling and retries.
• - Document architectural decisions and represent Core Services in architecture reviews.
• - Raise engineering standards across testing, observability, security, and reliability.
• - Stay hands‑on with production code, primarily Node.js and AWS.
• - Mentor engineers through pairing, reviews and technical coaching.
• - Facilitate AI‑assisted engineering tools while maintaining judgement and controls.
