Job summary

Collins Aerospace, an RTX business, seeks a Platform Systems Engineer II for the CTES CH-47F Chinook avionics program based in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico. The role is hybrid: 3 days onsite and 2 days remote; relocation is not offered and U.S. citizenship is required.

You will perform design, requirements capture, validation and verification for cockpit avionics, decompose requirements, and support cross-functional teams across engineering and customer stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Requires degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) with 2 years of relevant experience or an advanced degree.
• Proven professional English communication (verbal and written).
• U.S. citizenship is required to access program information.
• Ability to travel to Cedar Rapids, Iowa for test events and environment updates.

Responsibilities

• Perform design, requirements, validation, and verification tasks for CH-47F cockpit avionics for the CTES program.
• Learn and effectively use requirements capture, peer review, configuration management and AGILE development tools.
• Execute on-site testing and verification in a lab environment with schedule flexibility during formal test phases.
• Support requirements capture and decompose customer specifications into subsystem requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including customer stakeholders and domain engineers.

Collins Aerospace is looking to hire a motivated Platform Systems Engineer II with a passion for engineering, a high degree of accountability and the ability to thrive in an Agile team environment as part of our Military Avionics engineering organization. The selected engineer will support the CTES CH-47F Chinook Platform Systems team and participate in avionics engineering tasks that are associated with the design, development, integration, and test of platform and software applications.

This position will sit at our Aguadilla, PR location. You must be residing in Puerto Rico at the time of starting employment. Relocation is not offered.

This role is categorized as hybrid, with 3 days onsite and 2 days remote following the schedule assigned by the Manager.

What YOU will do:

• Perform design, requirements, validation, & verificationtasksfor CH-47F cockpit avionics for the CTES program
• Learn and effectively use requirements capture, peer review, configuration management, and AGILE development tools.
• On-site execution of requirements-based testing, robustness and Ad-Hoc testing in a lab environment (schedule flexibility is necessary during formal test phases).
• Support requirements capture and assist in decomposing customer specifications and system level requirements into sub-system requirements.
• Support cross-functional team development which include customer stakeholders and domain engineers.

Qualifications you must have:

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and 2 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field.
• Demonstrated professional experience communicating in English (verbal and written).
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
• Abilityto betravel toCedar Rapids, Iowa for test events and test environment updates, as needed

Qualifications We Prefer:

• Familiarity with Agile methodologies
• Working knowledge / understanding of databussesand protocols (Ethernet, MIL-STD-1553B, and ARINC-429)
• Basic experience with DOORS, JAMA, JIRA, and ALM tool suite
• Basic experience with Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) tools and methodologies
• Basic experience working within an aerospace related engineering development environment
• Basic experience or knowledge of engineering/technology requirements capture and configuration management tools.
• Basic experience or an educational background covering requirements capture & definition, integration, verification & validation testing.
• Experience with DevSecOps tools such as Robot and Jenkins.
