Business Process Analyst (Platform Specifications Analyst) Role Summary
The Business Process Engineer (Platform Specifications Analyst) translates business outcomes, architectural direction, and platform capabilities into clear, structured, implementation-ready specifications. This role serves as a critical bridge between business, product, architecture, and engineering. In an AI-enabled, agentic delivery model, the Platform Specifications Analyst creates the context, contracts, acceptance criteria, business rules, and validation logic that enable both engineers and AI coding agents to turn complex requirements into executable work.
The ideal candidate combines strong business and systems analysis skills with enough technical depth to define APIs, data flows, integrations, workflows, and service behaviors with precision.
Key Responsibilitie
- sTranslate business objectives, product goals, architectural decisions, stakeholder needs, and platform constraints into clear, implementation-ready specifications
- .Develop detailed platform capability definitions, including API contracts, data contracts, event contracts, agent contracts, business rules, non-functional requirements, and measurable acceptance criteria
- .Create structured context packages for AI-assisted development, including workflow definitions, user journeys, edge cases, sample payloads, decision logic, dependencies, and validation expectations
- .Maintain end-to-end traceability from business objectives and requirements through design artifacts, implementation, test scenarios, release criteria, and production outcomes
- .Partner closely with Product Owners, Architects, Engineers, QA, and subject matter experts to refine backlogs, decompose complex work, clarify requirements, identify dependencies, and reduce delivery friction
- .Define test scenarios, acceptance criteria, and validation patterns that embed quality into the requirements and specification process rather than treating QA as a downstream handoff
- .Identify ambiguity, gaps, conflicts, and incomplete requirements early in the delivery lifecycle and drive them to resolution
- .Develop and maintain reusable specification templates, standards, glossaries, reference patterns, and golden-path documentation to improve consistency across teams
- .Validate delivered functionality against intended business and technical outcomes, identifying gaps between requirements, implementation, and production behavior
- .Continuously improve specification practices to increase engineering velocity, reduce rework, and improve the quality of AI-generated and human-developed solutions
.Preferred Experience & Capabilitie
- sStrong experience in business analysis, systems analysis, requirements engineering, business process engineering, or a related discipline
- .Demonstrated ability to translate complex business and technical concepts into precise, actionable specifications
- .Experience working with API specifications, integration patterns, data schemas, workflow definitions, event-driven architectures, or service contracts
- .Experience developing user stories, use cases, acceptance criteria, test scenarios, process flows, business rules, and other implementation artifacts
- .Strong understanding of Agile delivery practices, product backlogs, software development lifecycles, and cross-functional delivery models
- .Familiarity with software quality practices, test automation concepts, and requirements-driven validation
- .Familiarity with AI-assisted software development, coding agents, or other generative AI development workflows
- .Ability to identify edge cases, dependencies, assumptions, and failure scenarios before they become implementation issues
- .Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across business, product, engineering, architecture, security, QA, and operations teams
- .Ability to operate effectively in environments where precision, structured documentation, and asynchronous collaboration are essential
