Job summary

Shield AI seeks a Staff Cybersecurity Platform Engineer to design, implement, and optimize secure network infrastructures supporting DoD-grade operations. The role requires hands-on expertise across cybersecurity, network engineering, and server hardware, with clear communication to cross-functional teams.

You will lead architecture for secure deployments, enforce Zero Trust and DoD compliance, and collaborate with DevSecOps to deliver scalable, reliable systems in cloud and hybrid environments.

Qualifications

• Must be able to obtain DoD Secret clearance.
• Degree in Cybersecurity/CS/CE or related IT field.
• 5+ years in platform engineering or cybersecurity/network roles.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.
• Strong frameworks: Zero Trust, NIST SP 800-53/800-63B, ISO 27001.
• Hands-on with routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers.
• Experience with AWS/Azure/GCP and hybrid environments.
• VoIP experience.
• Certifications such as CCIE/CCNP/CISSP or equivalent.
• DevSecOps with Kubernetes and Terraform, policy-as-code.

Responsibilities

• Decompose and implement cyber security requirements into system architecture.
• Enforce secure network architecture and compliance with standards.
• Develop docs for ATOs and configurations.
• Optimize secure topologies: segmentation, firewalls, VPNs, zero-trust.
• Collaborate to implement STIGs and POAMs for risk mitigation.
• Work with cyber teams on threat detection and incident response.
• Provide technical insight on X-BAT GCS cybersecurity stack.
• Ensure scalability, reliability and performance through design and monitoring.
• Troubleshoot complex network/infrastructure issues.
• Collaborate on Voice over IP capabilities implementation.
