Job summary

Airbyte is seeking an Engineering Manager, Platform to lead the Platform team responsible for Airbyte Cloud, Airbyte Flex, and Airbyte Agents. You will oversee cloud infrastructure, deployment systems, CI/CD, observability, and internal tooling that boost engineering velocity across the company.

You'll balance engineering velocity with customer-facing reliability, guide architectural tradeoffs, and shape how AI transforms software operations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience and 2+ years managing engineering teams.
• Experience leading Platform Engineering, Infrastructure, SRE, or Developer Productivity organizations.
• Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, observability, and distributed systems.
• Experience operating production systems at scale.
• Ability to translate platform strategy into language understood by product, design, and business.
• Desire to ship and balance tech debt with product delivery.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of Platform Engineers, Fullstack Engineers, and SREs.
• Own the reliability and operational health of production systems.
• Define the roadmap for infrastructure, CI/CD, deployment automation, observability, and internal tooling.
• Drive AI-powered workflows to improve debugging, release validation, and developer productivity.
• Lead incident response and implement blameless postmortems with systemic fixes.
• Aim for leverage and efficiency so tasks become trivial over time.
