Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced Platform Software Engineering leader to own our research, market-making, and risk management platforms. You will design and scale the core data infrastructure powering these systems and mentor a team of senior ICs and managers.

You will collaborate with researchers and leadership across Research and Business Operations to align architecture with business goals, and you will stay hands-on with code and technical decisions while guiding complex cross-functional

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience with 2+ years in a managerial role.
• Hands-on leader who stays close to code and day-to-day technical decisions.
• Experience leading complex engineering projects with cross-functional teams.
• Excellent coder, system architect, and mentor across seniority levels.
• Experience building data systems with relational databases and cloud data warehouses.
• Experience with ML concepts is a plus.
• Committed to growth, listening, and open discussions to deliver quality results.

• Design and scale the core data infrastructure powering all of these platforms.
• Work closely with researchers developing our price forecasting and grid optimization technology.
• Collaborate with senior leadership across our Research and Business Operations teams.
• Manage both senior IC work and people management.

Requirements

• 7+ years of professional experience as a software engineer, with 2+ years experience as an engineering manager.
• You are a hands on leader that enjoys staying close to the code and day-to-day technical decisions of the team.
• You have experience leading complex engineering projects in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• You are an excellent coder, system architect, and mentor of engineers of different seniority levels.
• You are experienced and comfortable building and designing data systems with traditional relational databases as well as cloud-based data warehouses.
• Experience with machine learning concepts and technology is a plus.
