Job summary

HTC Global Services seeks a Platform Engineering Engineer to design and maintain reusable software components that enable developer productivity and self-service. The role covers infrastructure, platforms, and related applications with hybrid onsite work in Dearborn, MI.

You will collaborate with architects and software teams to implement cloud, networking, security, and automation, ensuring scalable and secure delivery of platform services.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Design platform infrastructure and tools for servers, networks, storage, databases, cloud services, and related tech.
• Manage infrastructure with upgrades, security patches, and performance improvements.
• Evaluate cloud providers, containers, and abstractions for application teams.
• Write and execute Infrastructure as Code scripts and CI/CD pipelines.
• Implement monitoring and QoS/SLA metrics for scalable platform apps.
• Incorporate security and disaster recovery practices in infrastructure apps.
• Integrate enterprise configurations into deployment pipelines.
• Gather feedback from service providers and developers to guide platform evolution.

This role focuses on designing, implementing, integrating, and maintaining the underlying infrastructure and software applications that enable developer productivity and self-service.

We are seeking a Platform Engineering Engineer to develop and maintain reusable software components that support product developers. This role focuses on designing, implementing, integrating, and maintaining the underlying infrastructure and software applications that enable developer productivity and self-service.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with enterprise architects, software architects, and software engineering teams to design platform infrastructure and tools encompassing servers, networks, storage, databases, cloud services, and related technologies.
• Implement and manage infrastructure supporting platform tools, ensuring upgrades, security patches, and performance improvements are regularly performed.
• Evaluate cloud providers, containerization solutions, and other complex technologies to understand available configurations and create reusable abstractions for application teams.
• Write and execute automated Infrastructure as Code scripts and utilize CI/CD processes to streamline and automate the provisioning, configuration, and management of platform infrastructure.
• Integrate performance and monitoring best practices, including QoS and SLA metrics, to enable platform applications and managed services to scale automatically based on demand.
• Incorporate security and disaster recovery best practices into infrastructure applications, including access control, identity management, logging and monitoring, network configurations, data encryption, storage backup, and disaster recovery.
• Facilitate the integration of enterprise-managed software configurations into deployment pipelines managed by application teams to ensure approved configurations and best practices are applied.
• Gather and advocate for feedback from service providers and developers to support the continued growth and evolution of the platform.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree.
• 6+ years of experience in IT.
• 4+ years of development experience.
• Practical experience in two coding languages or advanced practical experience in one coding language.
• Experience with Network Engineering.
• Experience with Endpoint Security.
• Experience with Cloud Infrastructure.
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform.
• Experience with Cyber Security.
• Experience with Java.
• Experience with Python.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with runbook documentation and Architecture Decision Records (ADRs).
• Experience with cross-team collaboration involving SRE, security, and application development teams.
• Experience with capacity forecasting and cost optimization (FinOps).

Work Arrangement

• Hybrid position with 4 days per week onsite.
