Job summary

Cornerstone Defense is seeking a Software and Systems Security Engineer in Colorado Springs, CO to design, build, and secure on-prem systems, networks, and data. The role focuses on authentication, identity services, and security controls across the stack.

The position requires strong SDLC, cloud security, and secure coding practices, with collaboration across Cybersecurity and IT teams to strengthen security posture. Experience with Kubernetes deployments and GitLab pipelines is valued.

Qualifications

• Experience deploying secure services in modern languages (Python, Rust, Go)
• Strong familiarity with SDLC processes and source control
• Experience developing security architectures and cloud security concepts

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain secure systems for on-prem networks and data
• Implement authentication/identity services and access controls
• Develop and enforce secure coding patterns and validation
• Secure cloud deployments, configuration management, monitoring
• Collaborate with Cybersecurity and IT to identify threats and strengthen tools
• Create scalable, repeatable, and secure solutions
• Assist with Kubernetes deployments, GitLab pipelines, and ArgoCD patterns
