Job summary

BTI360 is hiring multiple Platform Engineers to join our growing team in the Washington, DC area. You will build and operate delivery environments for mission-critical applications, focusing on scalable cloud-native infrastructure and automated deployments.

You will work in a Lean Agile environment with peers and stakeholders, perform design discussions, and drive improvements across CI/CD, monitoring, and security practices. Onsite collaboration is supported near Herndon, VA.

Qualifications

• Requires active TS/SCI with Polygraph at time of application.
• Experience with source control (Git) and CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI, or AWS CodeBuild.
• Experience designing scalable, maintainable software in a containerized cloud environment (AWS preferred).
• Hands-on experience with IaC tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, Pulumi or AWS CDK for automated deployments.
• Proficiency in Docker and Kubernetes, with configuration management experience.
• Experience managing Kubernetes with GitOps using ArgoCD.
• Strong Bash/Python scripting and command-line skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for cross-team collaboration.
• Candidates must reside within a two-hour drive of Herndon, VA for onsite work.

What you will do in this role:

• Work closely with teammates and stakeholders in a Lean Agile environment to building delivery environments and systems for mission‑critical production applications
• Participate in code reviews, system design discussions, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Leverage modern build tools, testing frameworks, and CI/CD pipelines to ensure quality and delivery speed
• Design and develop software (write code) to maintain scalable, secure, and automated cloud‑native infrastructure platforms that support microservice‑based applications and data platforms
• Develop platform capabilities that enable development teams to build, deploy, and monitor applications efficiently
• Collaborate with software developers, security engineers, and operations teams to ensure reliability, observability, and compliance with federal security standards
• Implement Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD pipelines to support consistent and repeatable deployments

Required Qualifications:

• Active TS/SCI with Polygraph required at time of application
• Experience with source control (e.g. Git) and CI/CD pipeline tools such as GitHub Actions(preferred), Jenkins, GitLab CI, or AWSCodeBuild
• Experience designing and implementing scalable, maintainable, and OOP based software in a containerized cloud environment (AWS preferred) leveraging foundational services for computing, identity management, and networking.
• Hands‑on experience with designing, building, and managing cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform (preferred), AWS CloudFormation, Pulumi or AWS CDK to enable automated, repeatable, and secure deployments.
• Proficient in containerization and orchestration technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes, with experience in configuration management
• Experience managing Kubernetes environments with GitOps using ArgoCD
• Strong scripting skills in Bash, Python, or similar languages with proficiency in command‑line tools/concepts
• Effective written and verbal communication skills necessary to perform job duties and collaborate with team members
• Candidates must maintain a primary residence within a two‑hour drive of Herndon, VA to support onsite collaboration as needed.

Desired skills:

• Past software development experience
• Familiarity with monitoring and observability stacks such as Prometheus/Grafana (preferred), CloudWatch, or ELK/EFK
• Contributions to open‑source libraries or community projects or personal projects
• Hands‑on experience with developing and maintaining configuration management scripts with tools like Ansible (preferred), Puppet, or Chef to automate software installation, configuration, and system hardening across environments.
• Experience in AWS Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS).
• Flux or similar tooling as well as authoring and maintaining Helm Charts
• Strong knowledge of AWS VPC networking (including Transit gateways, Route 53 DNS, and VPC endpoint services)

The base salary pay range for this role is $96,900 - $247,900. This range reflects base compensation only and does not include benefits, bonuses, or additional pay incentives associated with the opportunity.
