Job summary

NorthHill Technology Resources in Chantilly, VA is hiring a Platform Engineer to support a Federal program. The role requires 3–6 years of Kubernetes-heavy experience, Docker, and TS/SCI with CI Polygraph.

You will design, deploy, secure, and optimize highly available Kubernetes clusters, and build automated CI/CD pipelines for containerized workloads. Responsibilities include IaC with Terraform/CloudFormation, Helm/Kustomize packaging, and strong scripting.

Qualifications

• 3–6 years of relevant experience required.
• TS/SCI clearance with CI Polygraph required.
• Experience designing, deploying, securing, and maintaining Kubernetes clusters.
• Proficiency with Docker and Kubernetes primitives (Pods, Deployments, StatefulSets, Services).
• Experience with CI/CD tooling (Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions, Tekton, Argo).
• Familiarity with IaC tooling (Terraform, Pulumi, CloudFormation).
• Proficient in scripting (Python, Go, Bash).
• Knowledge of networking concepts (DNS, TCP/IP, HTTP).
• Experience with GitOps (Argo CD).
• Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills in distributed systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, secure, and maintain scalable Kubernetes clusters.
• Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines for containerized apps.
• Implement IaC for provisioning infrastructure and Helm/Kustomize for deployments.
• Manage security, RBAC, secrets and policy enforcement.
• Monitor, log, and alert for Kubernetes environments (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK).
• Collaborate with devs and ops; mentor junior engineers.
