Job summary

The University of Chicago’s Center for Translational Data Science is seeking a Temporary Platform Engineer with strong Full-Stack Development experience for a ~6-month engagement. You will support and optimize hybrid and public cloud infrastructure, while writing and debugging application code, focusing on AWS EKS and ArgoCD pipelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, engineering, or a related technical field is required.
• Hands-on production experience with AWS EKS and ArgoCD.
• Proficiency in Python and/or Go for backend services.
• Frontend experience with Next.js and modern JavaScript frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Manage, optimize, and troubleshoot Kubernetes clusters using AWS EKS and ArgoCD.
• Develop and review backend and frontend code across the platform.
• Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines in AWS environments.
• Investigate production incidents and ensure platform stability.
• Identify opportunities for performance and security improvements.
