Job summary

DTEX is seeking a Platform Engineer to design, build, and maintain the DTEX InTERCEPT platform for enterprise-scale insider risk management. You will work with a high-caliber team on microservices, containerization with Podman and Kubernetes, and Python development.

The role emphasizes OpenSearch/PostgreSQL storage, API design in cloud environments, and security-focused engineering. A hybrid or remote work arrangement is available, with competitive compensation and benefits.

Qualifications

• BS in CS or equivalent.
• In-depth experience using OpenSearch or ElasticSearch.
• Proficiency in Python or other OO/functional languages with shipping experience.
• Cloud technologies (AWS or GCP) and orchestration with Kubernetes/Docker ecosystems.
• Experience designing and scaling production APIs in cloud environments.
• Proficiency in Django and PostgreSQL or SQL databases.
• Knowledge of Linux systems (systemd, daemons, cron) is a plus.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Self-starter with proactive approach.
• Startup experience is a plus.
• IDE with embedded AI experience is a plus.

About the Job:

As a Platform Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, building, and maintaining our DTEX InTERCEPT platform. You will work with a talented team of engineers to develop and deploy robust solutions that address the ever-evolving challenges of insider risk.

Responsibilities:

• Expertise in microservice architecture, develop services optimized for speed and scalability, ensuring robust performance of data pipelines under high-demand conditions.
• Implement and manage containerization technologies, including Podman and Kubernetes, to ensure efficient deployment and operation of our platform.
• Write high-quality Python code, including testing, automation, documentation, and adherence to software engineering best practices.
• Design and implement efficient strategies for storage and retrieval of high-volume data from OpenSearch and Postgres databases.
• Lead efforts to improve search relevance, performance and user experience through tuning, optimization, and experimentation.
• Design and implement features for the big data analytics platform that is part of the DTEX solution.
• Implement best practices for system security and data protection, adhering to industry standards and compliance requirements.
• Demonstrate a high degree of ownership in all facets of the development lifecycle, from design to deployment and iterative improvements.
• Mentor junior engineers and foster a culture of innovation and continuous learning.

Qualifications/Attributes:

• BS in CS or equivalent and 5+ years of experience in developing software.
• Indepth experience using OpenSearch or ElasticSearch.
• Proven experience in writing high quality code in Python or any other functional/OO language with a track record of shipping impactful software.
• Proficiency in at least one of the Cloud Technologies AWS or GCP and orchestration using Kubernetes, EKS, ECS, Docker Swarm or Mesos.
• Proficiency in implementing, designing, and scaling production level APIs in cloud environments.
• Proficiency in Django, PostgreSQL, or any other SQL database,
• Knowledge of Linux Systemd, daemons, services, and cron subsystems is a huge plus but not a requirement.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Proactive self-starter.
• Demonstrated ability to simplify complex problems and prioritize what matters most for the team and business.
• Prior experience working in a startup is a plus
• Experience using IDE embedded AI is a plus
