Backend Engineer

The Company

Neon Redwood is a data services consulting company working on cutting-edge AI and data‑driven solutions. We are a team of passionate engineers and data experts, and we are currently looking for a Backend Engineer to join us in developing and expanding our data infrastructure and analytics capabilities.

The Role

We are seeking an experienced Backend Engineer with a background with some knowledge of front end development and a passion for building data‑heavy web applications

The ideal candidate will have at least 4 years of professional experience and a strong understanding of LLMs, TypeScript and Amazon Web Services (AWS) or similar technologies. This full-time role involves working closely with our CTO and team members to design, develop, and maintain APIs, web applications, and LLM integrations.

Responsibilities

• Implement multi‑step agentic workflows using LLMs
• Collaborate with the CTO and team members to design, develop, and maintain systems and applications
• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code in TypeScript and related technologies
• Implement and optimise data storage and processing solutions using PostgreSQL and AWS
• Develop tooling to support resilient agentic workflows
• Stay up to date with industry trends and technologies to keep our infrastructure competitive
• Assist in the development and launch of new data‑driven tools and products

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience
• 4+ years of professional full‑stack or backend engineering experience
• Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to work independently or collaboratively
• Strong communication skills and a desire to grow into leadership roles
• Experience with Asana or similar project management tools
• Understanding of API design and development
• Solid proficiency in TypeScript
• Familiarity with Next.js

Nice to Have

• Experience with LangChain or similar tools in production
• Knowledge of machine learning and AI concepts
• Experience with Prisma
• Familiarity with SST and/or Pulumi
