Job summary

UTIMCO is seeking a Platform Architect with deep automation experience to design and lead the platform engineering program. You will partner with Information Services and Security to implement Azure DevOps pipelines and drive Infrastructure as Code across the environment.

The role emphasizes security integration, cross-team collaboration, and reliable, scalable infrastructure in a dynamic investment firm setting.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Partner with peers in Information Services and Security to architect and extend Azure DevOps automated deployment pipelines toward a 100% Infrastructure as Code environment.
• Own and develop the Platform Engineering program.
• Build relationships across UTIMCO to foster a collegial culture.
• Communicate with platform stakeholders and users.
• Advance the firm by developing security-focused policies, procedures, and standards.
• Support production release rollouts, occasionally outside core hours.
• Advocate scripting, automation, and version control to reduce repetitive tasks.
• Integrate security and compliance into the platform.
• Document configurations and processes for cross-team usability.
• Ensure platform performance, security, and reliability through telemetry analysis.
• Enhance resilience via Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery planning and testing.
• Participate in 24/7 enterprise systems ownership and maintain high standards of operation.
• Provide IIS, Windows Server, and Azure platform administration.
• Perform other related duties and projects as assigned.

Overall Responsibilities

• Partner with peers in Information Services and Security team to architect and extend Azure DevOps automated deployment pipelines in pursuit of a 100% Infrastructure as Code environment
• Own and develop the Platform Engineering program
• Build relationships across UTIMCO to foster a collegial culture on the Information Services and Security team and across the organization
• Communicate with platform stakeholders and users
• Advance the firm by developing policies, procedures, and standards for secure modern technologies
• Support our team in production release rollouts, occasionally outside of core working hours
• Be a practicing evangelist in the belief that any repetitive and/or error prone process or task should be scripted, automated, and version controlled
• Committed to integrating security and compliance into the platform
• Document configurations and processesso different teams understand how to use the same platform
• Ensure performance, security, and reliability of the platform through analysis and advancement of telemetry
• Enhance our technology resilience through participating in Business Continuation/Disaster Recovery planning, building, and testing
• Participate in active ownership of 24/7 enterprise systems, including performing maintenance to high standards and document processes for level 1 and level 2 support
• Administratively support IIS, Windows Server, Azure platform
• Perform other related duties and projects as assigned

Requirements

• Experience supporting a Microsoft Azure IaaS platform
• Knowledge of Windows Server configuration (.NET, and IIS). Ability to setup and administer CI/CD tools (Azure DevOps). Ability to setup and administer source control
• Strong problem solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses
• Understanding of common Internet-centric applications and protocols such as: HTTP, SMTP, SSL, SSH, SNMP, DNS
• Unquestioned honesty, integrity, and transparency
• Maintain confidence with clients and ensure communication channels are consistently open
• Resolve interpersonal conflict respectfully and directly
• Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in applying artificial intelligence (AI) tools to improve research, analysis, communication, and workflow efficiency, with sound judgment regarding accuracy, confidentiality, and appropriate use

This position may be Contract to Full-Time hire.
