Job summary

Booz Allen Hamilton is seeking a Senior Manager for Platform and Reliability Engineering to build and operate a secure, reliable foundation for enterprise AI. You will manage cloud infrastructure, runtimes, model access, deployment pipelines, and observability to enable AI solutions across teams.

You will automate environments and security controls, monitor performance, and lead incident response and recovery.

Qualifications

• Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code, containers, orchestration, and CI / CD pipelines, including automated security and deployment checks.
• Experience applying site reliability engineering practices, including service objectives, alerting, incident response, capacity planning, and disaster recovery.
• Experience implementing centralized logs, metrics, distributed traces, and dashboards to diagnose production failures and performance issues.
• Experience operating model gateways or AI workloads, and implementing LLMOps practices.
• Knowledge of LLM operational requirements, including model gateways, rate limits, retries, timeouts, runtime isolation, and consumption costs.

Platform and Reliability Engineer, Senior Manager

The Opportunity:
Build and operate the secure, reliable foundation for enterprise agentic AI. You will provide cloud infrastructure, shared runtimes, model access, deployment pipelines, and observability services that enable engineering teams to deliver and operate AI solutions.

You will automate environments and security controls, monitor availability, latency, throughput, token consumption, and cost, and lead shared-platform incident response and recovery. Working with AI engineering, data engineering, and forward-deployed engineering, you will validate operational readiness and maintain deployment standards and runbooks. Your accountability centre on shared platform reliability, security infrastructure, and production operations.

You Have:

• Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code, containers, orchestration, and CI / CD pipelines, including automated security and deployment checks using tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation
• Experience applying site reliability engineering practices, including service objectives, alerting, incident response, capacity planning, and disa ster recovery
• Experience implementing centralized logs, met rics, distributed t race s, and dashboards to diagnose production failures and performance issues
• Experience operating model gateways or AI workloads, and implementing LLMOps practices
• Knowledge of LLM operational requirements, including model gateways, rate limits, retries, timeouts, runtime isolation, and consumption costs
• Ability to automate operational workflows using languages such as Python or Bash, and troubleshoot distributed systems
• Ability to document support responsibilities, evaluate readiness evidence, and coordinate technical handoffs across teams
• Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of experience building and operating production infrastructure in AWS and Databricks, including networking, identity, secrets management, and access controls, or 9+ years of experience building and operating production infrastructure in AWS and Databricks, including networking, identity, secrets management, and access controls, in lieu of a degree

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $142,900.00 to $266,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
