Job summary

Darling Ingredients is seeking a general plant laborer to support daily operations at our processing plant. The role includes operating machinery, forklift, grinder, and performing routine housekeeping to keep production running smoothly.

Ideal candidates are 18+, with basic reading/writing skills and the ability to climb stairs and silos. Must have stamina to stand through shifts; team-minded, safety-conscious individuals with mechanical aptitude are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• General plant labor.
• Operate forklift.
• Plate Freezer Operation.
• Conduct inventory counts.
• Stretch Wrapper Operation.
• Pressure Washer Operation.
• Housekeeping: floors, trash, and general cleaning.
• Shovel and clean up spills in the plant.
• Keep barrels emptied of trash and product.
• Clean equipment from top to bottom.
• Keep floor drains clean and covered.
• Paint as directed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

General plant labor, to include operating machinery, forklift operation, grinder operation, housekeeping, cleaning, painting, grounds and general housekeeping in all areas of the plant.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

• General plant labor
• Utilize and operate a forklift
• Plate Freezer Operation
• Inventory counts
• Stretch Wrapper Operation
• Pressure Washer Operation
• Housekeeping, hosing down floors, mopping, sweeping, emptying trash, picking up trash, etc.
• Shovel and clean up spills in the plant
• Keep barrels emptied of trash and product
• Clean equipment from top to bottom
• Keep floor drains cleaned out and covers on drains
• Paint as directed
• Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age
• Ability to read and write.
• Ability to climb stairs and silos.
• Ability to stand for entire shift.

• Work well with others in a team environment.
• Safety conscience; detail oriented; able to multi-task.
• Good mechanical skills; knowledge of plant processes and equipment.
