Job summary

PeopleFind Inc. is recruiting a highly skilled Purchasing Manager – Raw Materials to oversee procurement of raw materials and indirect materials for an established manufacturer.

This on-site position requires plastics or resin procurement experience and will collaborate across Procurement, Supply Chain, Regulatory, Quality, and Operations to improve supplier performance and reduce costs. Qualifications

• Five+ years of progressive experience in procurement, purchasing, strategic sourcing, commodity management or supply-chain management.
• Plastics, resin or related chemical-procurement background preferred.
• Strong supplier-relationship management and strategic sourcing knowledge.
• Understanding of global supply-chain factors and contract law related to purchasing.

Responsibilities

• Manage purchasing requirements for manufacturing facilities throughout the United States.
• Maintain detailed purchasing records and vendor data, including specs, pricing histories, performance results and contracts.
• Conduct market analysis to identify supply trends and cost drivers within the supply base.
• Lead supplier selection, quotes, total-cost-of-ownership analyses and contract negotiations.
• Build and maintain strong supplier relationships through visits, audits and evaluations.
• Develop commodity strategies to maximize purchasing leverage and improve cost efficiency.
• Support material-budget planning, cost forecasting and KPIs.
• Lead supplier negotiations and corrective-action processes.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to mitigate supply risk.
