Vantage Plastics in Standish, MI is seeking a Utility worker to support extrusion operations. You will assist operators, inspect finished sheets, handle materials, and help maintain a safe, efficient production area.

Must read work orders, use micrometers and tape measures, and communicate quality concerns promptly. The role involves banding, wrapping pallets, grinding scrap, and operating a forklift after training. This is a labor-intensive, hands-on position with overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 3 years operating an extruder preferred.
• Experience with plastic extrusion processes is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Read and understand work orders, production instructions, and product specifications.
• Inspect sheet and finished product to ensure quality standards are met.
• Recognize acceptable vs defective sheet and notify the operator of quality concerns.
• Read measuring tools, including micrometers and tape measures.
• Assist Machine Operators with machine start-ups, set-ups, and production activities.
• Understand and perform emergency shutdown procedures.
• Band, wrap, and prepare finished pallets for movement or shipment.
• Collect and grind production scrap per procedures.
• Complete required production, quality, and related paperwork accurately.
• Operate a forklift after training and authorization.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Follow safety procedures and operating instructions.
• Communicate production, equipment, quality, and safety concerns to supervisors.
• Perform other production-related duties as assigned.
