Job Description

Our ideal Plasma Processor has great organizational, computer and troubleshooting skills and feels comfortable working with extreme temperatures. They handle responsibilities in many operational areas of the plasma center such as maintaining accurate donor files, shipping, and inventory control.

Primary Responsibilities

• Collect and process donor samples for testing.
• Record weight of product and samples.
• Label samples and freeze units for final packing within the required timeframe.
• Pack units for final shipment; pack samples and prepare shipping box to send samples to the testing lab.
• Monitor stored products and report working conditions of equipment.
• Maintain active communication and quality.

Occupational Demands

Work is performed in a plasma center. Exposure to biological fluids with potential infectious organisms, biological fluids, and electrical lab equipment. Exposure to extreme cold below 32°F while working in plasma freezer. Personal protective equipment required such as protective eyewear, garments, gloves and cold‑gear. Work is performed standing for 4 to 6 hours per day, bending and twisting for 1–2 hours per day, frequent hand movement and precise coordinated movements, light lifting of 15 lbs on occasion, lifting up to 25–35 lbs, maximum lift 50 lbs, may reach below shoulder height. Hearing acuity essential. Color perception, near and far vision correctable to 20/30 and 20/100 respectively. Must comprehend and follow instructions fully.
