Plasma Processor

Our ideal Plasma Processor has strong organizational, computer, and troubleshooting skills, and feels comfortable being exposed to extreme temperatures. The role involves handling responsibilities in many operational areas of the plasma center such as maintaining accurate donor files, shipping, and inventory control.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Collects and processes donor samples for testing.
• Records weight of product and samples.
• Labels samples and freezes units for final packing within the required timeframe.
• Packs units for shipment; prepares shipping boxes to send samples to the testing lab.
• Monitors stored products and reports equipment conditions.
• Makes decisions to ensure quality and communication with colleagues.

Occupational Demands Form # 76:

Work is performed in a plasma center with exposure to biological fluids and electrical equipment. The position requires work in extreme cold below 32°F while operating a plasma freezer, wearing personal protective equipment such as eyewear, garments, gloves and cold gear. Tasks include standing for 4 to 6 hours a day, bending, twisting, frequent hand and foot movements, light lifting (15–35 lbs) and occasional heavier loads up to 50 lbs. Adequate hearing, color perception, near and far vision are essential, and the candidate must be able to comprehend and follow instructions.
