Job summary

CSL Vifor is seeking a detail-oriented plasma processing associate to collect, sample, label, store, and ship plasma units. The role requires strict adherence to SOPs, sterile technique, accurate labeling, and continuous monitoring of temperatures in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include daily equipment calibration, donor data entry, and maintaining a compliant, safe work area; cross-training and occasional bilingual support may be needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 3 months experience in laboratory or warehouse preferred.
• Must be able to perform basic math calculations.

Responsibilities

• Collect plasma samples and move plasma units to freezer to ensure product quality.
• Store plasma units properly according to SOPs, including handling unsuitable plasma.
• Verify that pre-printed labels match dynamic labels to ensure accurate unit labeling.
• Use sterile technique to draw samples and heat seal for sterility and quality.
• Prepare shipments and unit disposal documentation as required by SOPs and center procedures.
• Monitor freezer and refrigerator temperatures and report equipment issues immediately; record variances.
• Calibrate equipment daily according to SOPs.
• Record donor data accurately in the electronic donor information management system.
• Understand policies related to hyper-immune programs at the center if applicable.
• Maintain a clean, efficient work environment and ensure supplies and forms are available; follow HSE/OSHA policies.
• Maintain confidentiality of personnel, donor and center information.
• Cross-train in other areas as needed to meet business needs.
• Bilingual skills may be required at the organization's discretion.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Responsible for the accurate and timely sampling, testing, shipping and storage of plasma collected from donors.

Job Description

1. 1 In compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), responsible for collecting plasma samples and moving plasma units to freezer to ensure product quality.
2. 2 Ensures plasma units are properly stored according to SOPs, which could include unsuitable plasma units and samples.
3. 3 Ensures accuracy of unit labeling by verifying the pre-printed label matches the dynamic label.
4. 4 Utilizes sterile technique to draw samples and uses heat sealer to assure the sterility and quality of plasma unit samples per SOPs.
5. 5 May ensure samples and units are packed and shipped in accordance with SOPs and center procedures. Prepares shipping and unit disposal documentation.
6. 6 Monitors freezer and refrigerator temperatures and immediately informs appropriate personnel if equipment is not functioning properly. Records variances.
7. 7 Conducts daily calibration of equipment according to SOPs.
8. 8 Ensures the accurate recording of donor data in the electronic donor information management system as outlined in the SOPs.
9. 9 Understands the policies and procedures associated with hyper immune programs at the center if applicable.
10. 10 Maintains clean efficient work environment, and ensures sufficient operating supplies and forms are available as needed. Follows all Health Safety & Environmental (HSE) and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) policies and procedures. Promotes safety in all actions.
11. 11 Maintains confidentiality of all personnel, donor and center information.
12. 12 May be cross-trained in other areas to meet the needs of the business.

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required

Experience

• Minimum of three (3) months experience in laboratory or warehouse environment preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Must be able to perform basic math calculations

Working Conditions
