Job summary

6AM City, LLC in Alabama is seeking a diligent Temporary Plasma Cutter to join our manufacturing team. The role focuses on operating plasma cutting machinery to produce metal components with accuracy and safety in mind, in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include loading and unloading on the burning table with an overhead crane, nesting parts, programming plasma cutter and setting gases and tips, and ensuring timely delivery to the next station according to production schedules.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience operating plasma cutting machinery.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Experience with CNC machining and overhead cranes.
  • Familiar with hand tools and precision measuring instruments.
  • Knowledge of calibration processes for tools and equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Operate plasma cutting machinery to produce high-quality metal components with accuracy and safety.
  • Maintain precision in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Safely load and unload the burning table using an overhead crane, using chains and magnets as required.
  • Remove cut products and palletize or place in designated bins.
  • Ensure timely delivery of processed materials to the next department per production schedules.
  • Program and operate CNC plasma cutting equipment to meet precise specifications.
  • Set up the plasma cutter, select gases and cutting tips for optimal performance.
  • Generate multiple part nestings to optimize material usage and reduce waste.

Plasma Cutter Details:

  • Temp-to-Hire position
  • $16.00 /hour
  • Full Time work available
  • First Shift (Monday through Thursday from 05:00am to 04:00pm)

Responsibilities:

  • The successful candidate will be responsible for operating plasma cutting machinery to produce high-quality metal components, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and timely delivery within our production workflow.
  • This is a critical role that requires precision, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to safety in a fast-paced environment.
  • Safely load and unload the burning table using an overhead crane, utilizing chains and magnets as required.
  • Efficiently remove cut products from the table, stack them neatly on pallets, or place them in designated bins.
  • Ensure the timely and accurate delivery of processed materials to the next department as per production schedules.
  • Program and expertly operate CNC plasma cutting equipment to meet precise specifications.
  • Program and set up the plasma cutter, including selecting and installing proper gases and cutting tips for optimal performance.
  • Generate multiple part nestings to optimize material utilization and reduce waste.

Plasma Cutter Qualifications:

  • Proven experience operating plasma cutting machinery
  • Strong understanding of safety procedures related to machinery operation and material handling.
  • Experience as a CNC Machinist. Proficiency in operating overhead cranes.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Familiarity with various hand tools.
  • Experience using precision measuring instruments such as tape measures, micrometers, and calipers.
  • Knowledge of calibration processes for tools and equipment.
