Job summary

BioLife is seeking a part-time plasma donor screener/phlebotomist in Tukwila, WA. You will respond to donor needs, perform screenings, monitor safety, and maintain donor records as part of center operations.

This role emphasizes reliability during scheduled hours and offers an initial paid training program. You may work evenings, weekends and holidays to support plasma collection goals.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to walk and/or stand for the entire shift.
  • Willingness to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to lift to 5 lbs, occasionally up to 32 lbs and rarely 50 lbs.
  • Due to exposure to bloodborne pathogens, 90% of tasks require glove wear.
  • One or more years of customer or patient-facing experience is helpful.

Responsibilities

  • Answer phones, greet donors and focus on safety.
  • Screen new and repeat donors and record donor vital signs and finger-stick results.
  • Use the Donor Information System, prepare donor charts, maintain records and coordinate donor compensation.
  • Identify operational opportunities for process improvements and initiate changes using approved procedures.
  • Work a variety of shifts, including Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.

About the Role

You will report to the Plasma Center Manager and perform as a plasma donor screener and phlebotomist to support plasma center operations.

How You Will Contribute
  • You will answer phones, greet donors, and focus on their safety.

What You Bring to Takeda
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to walk and/or stand for the entire work shift
  • Will work evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to lean, bend, stoop, crouch, and reach above shoulders and below knees
  • Ability to lift to 5 lbs., occasionally lifting materials up to 32 lbs. and rarely 50 lbs.
  • Fine motor coordination, depth perception, and ability to hear equipment from a distance
  • Because of potential exposure to bloodborne pathogens (risk level 1), 90% of work tasks require prolonged glove wear
  • One or more years of experience in a customer or patient‑facing role is helpful

Location and Compensation

Location: USA — WA — Tukwila

U.S. Starting Hourly Wage: $21.00

The starting hourly wage reflects the actual starting rate for this position. The actual hourly wage offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.

U.S. based employees may be eligible for short‑term incentives. They may also participate in medical, dental, vision insurance; a 401(k) plan with company match; short‑term and long‑term disability coverage; basic life insurance; a tuition reimbursement program; paid volunteer time off; company holidays; and well‑being benefits. U.S. based employees are also eligible to receive, per calendar year, up to 80 hours of sick time, and new hires may accrue up to 120 hours of paid vacation.
