Qualifications

  • Must maintain ASME B31.3 welding certifications and stainless steel certifications.
  • Perform duties safely following company and OSHA guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Fabricate and layout piping systems and structural steel.
  • Lead and coordinate plant projects, including planning, scheduling, contractor oversight, and procurement.
  • Perform welding operations on in-service pipe.
  • Maintain equipment systems and handle emergency repairs.
  • Work from blueprints, sketches, or verbal instructions.
  • Fabricate equipment by cutting, burning, and welding various metals; repair as needed.
  • Lead and interact with contract personnel; oversee hot cuts and hot tie-ins.
  • Ensure general upkeep and maintenance of equipment; address safety and environmental concerns.

What We Are Looking For
Position Description:

Kinder Morgan CO2 Company is currently seeking a Plant Welder with a hiringrange from level 1 to 4 dependent on experience and skill set for the SACROCGas Processing Facilities in Snyder, TX. The successful candidate will serve avital role in maintaining the safe and efficient operation of all aspects of theplants equipment. The SACROC Gas Processing Facilities employs amultitude of processes which include over 300,000 hp of compression and fourgas processing Trains which include gas dehydration, NGL recovery, and CO2membranes. The SACROC Gas Processing Facility is a PSM Facility.

What You Will Do
Job Responsibilities:
  • Work involves the fabrication and layout of piping systems and structural steel.
  • Lead and coordinate assigned plant projects, including planning, scheduling, contractor oversight, procuring goods and services, and execution support.
  • Perform welding operations on in-service pipe.
  • Perform maintenance on equipment systems and handle emergency repairs ormaintenance as necessary.
  • Work from blueprints, sketches, or verbal instructions.
  • Fabricate equipment by cutting, burning, and welding various metals. Repair equipment by using welding techniques and appropriate welding equipment.
  • Lead, direct, and interact with contract personnel.
  • Perform / Oversee hot cuts and hot tie-ins.
  • Responsible for general upkeep and maintenance of equipment.
  • Identify, report, and correct safety and environmental concerns.
  • Promote the company's EHS philosophy and culture.
  • Be a contributing member of the PSM teams.
  • Operate a company vehicle.
  • As needed provide welding support to other Kinder Morgan assets and facilities.
What You Need
Education Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
Specific experience, skills, knowledge, certifications, licenses, competencies:
  • Must successfully pass welding qualification tests and obtain certifications in accordance with applicable codes, procedures, and company standards.
  • Knowledge of standard practices, methods, tools, and materials in advanced welding.
  • Ability to examine and analyze welds for defects.
  • Must be able to successfully complete and maintain ASME B31.3 welding certifications.
  • Must be able to successfully complete and maintain stainless steel welding certifications.
  • Perform all duties in a safe and efficient manner according to company and OSHA safety guidelines.
  • Self-starter and high drive for results.
  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks.
  • Strong teamwork skills.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Must maintain a valid driver's license and a driving record satisfactory to company's insurers.
  • Must be able to work with a team, take direction from supervisors, keep required work schedules, focus on attention to detail, and follow work rules.
Working Conditions:
  • Requires physical work involving walking, standing, and exerting up to 50 pounds of force.
  • Tasks are performed in all weather conditions, in daylight & darkness.
  • Must participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation and be on site within 45 minutes of call outs.
  • The noise level in the working environment is usually loud.
  • Exposure to process, vessels, and piping systems containing H2S and hydrocarbon gases which are flammable and may be explosive under certain circumstances.
