Job summary

Lhoist North America is seeking a Production Utility to keep the plant neat, clean, and orderly while supporting overall operations. You will be the third line of defense, ensuring procedures are followed across plant areas and assisting with equipment readiness.

The role requires operating heavy equipment safely, performing pre-shift inspections, and maintaining inventory accuracy. A strong safety mindset and ability to work independently are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Apprenticeship or technical program in an industrial setting preferred.
• Experience operating heavy equipment preferred.
• Able to perform basic math and read/interpret documents (work orders, safety rules, SOPs).

Responsibilities

• Maintain plant grounds, facilities, and load-out areas.
• Clean bins, conveyors, spills, and related surfaces.
• Operate mobile equipment (skid steer, dingo, water truck) for cleanup.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Understand dryer-related material handling capacity and load.
• Perform miscellaneous tasks like clearing blockages and maintaining conveyors.
• Check in/out and load customer trucks for outbound delivery.
• Conduct pre-start inspections and run plant/test samples.
• Manage silo inventory measurements and ensure correct bin allocation.
• Perform basic maintenance on process equipment as needed.
• Adhere to safety rules and lockout/tagout procedures.
• Operate heavy equipment safely (haul truck, skid steer, forklift, etc.).
• Support Safe Quality Feed program per FSMA and GMPs.
