Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; trade school or technical training preferred.
• Proven mechanical and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work 12-hour rotating shifts, weekends, on-call and overtime.
• Basic PC skills for information processing.
• General knowledge of safety and environmental regulations.
• Ability to operate a forklift and man-lifts as needed.
• Must be admissible to POSS/MASS program (POSS/MASS exams scheduled by HR).
• Knowledge to conduct thermal and water plant chemistry.
• Complete Tier 3 qualifications for operations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain shift operating logs and records.
• Operate and monitor plant equipment and systems.
• Perform regular equipment rounds and report abnormal readings.
• Handle mechanical maintenance tasks, inspections and troubleshooting.
• Assist in developing standard operating procedures.
• Follow safe working practices and identify hazards.
• Use CMMS to document deficiencies, schedule work and order materials.
• Complete required plant training and assist in training others.
• Unload, handle and transfer bulk chemicals and take samples for analysis.
• Maintain plant housekeeping and security.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Level of position will be determined by applicable skills/experience.
