Job summary

Luminant Power LLC seeks a Plant Operator to maintain basic operation knowledge of all plant systems and operate equipment within specification and environmental regulations under the direction of skilled Plant Technicians.

We emphasize safe, reliable operation and ongoing learning of gas plant equipment functions, with a focus on compliance with safety protocols and environmental rules. The role includes 12-hour rotating shifts and a commitment to training and teamwork.

Qualifications

• 1-4 years of power plant or related experience.
• Completion of Tier 1 job performance measures in Operations, Mechanical, Electrical, and Instrument & Controls.
• High School diploma or GED.
• Ability to work 12-hour rotating shifts.
• Meet PT1-E requirements if applicable.
• Demonstrate standard computer-based skills.
• Demonstrate effective oral & verbal communications skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with troubleshooting of plant equipment and perform preventive/corrective maintenance.
• Perform daily maintenance, overhauls, and installation/removal of plant equipment and structures.
• Work rotating shifts as required.
• Maintain equipment at the plant and ensure safe operation.
• Follow safety and environmental procedures including LOTO, JSA, Confined Space, Hot Work, and PPE.

Responsible for continuing to learn the proper function, operation, and perform maintenance of equipment at a Gas Plant for the Gas fleet. Responsible for promoting safe, effective, and reliable operation.

Job Description

Key Accountabilities

• Required duties depend upon the particular field requiring skills for advancement.
• Assisting/performing troubleshooting of plant equipment, preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure proper functioning, daily maintenance, construction, demolition, overhauls, repair /replacement and removal/installation of plant equipment and structures.
• *Ability to work rotating shifts
• Provides skills for maintaining equipment at the plant
• Perform clearances in LOTOV under the direction of a senior operator or supervisor
• Utilizes/operates various types of hand, power, precision or machine tools necessary to support safe and productive work environments.
• Maintains a working knowledge of all electronic control systems and computers
• Understands and follows current safety and environmental regulations necessary to conduct all phases of work
• Ensures strict adherence to safety, health and environmental procedures as they relate to plant operations and maintenance including but not limited to Lockout Tagout, Job Safety Analysis, Confined Space, Hot Work, Electrical Safety and PPE

* Level of position will be determined by applicable education and skills/experience

Education, Experience, and Skill Requirements

• 1-4 years of power plant or related experience
• Satisfactory completion of Tier 1 job performance measures composed of basic: Operations, Mechanical, Electrical, and Instrument and Controls
• High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
• *Ability to work 12-hour rotating shifts
• If applicable, candidate must meet the requirement of PT1-E
• Demonstrate standard computer-based skills
• Demonstrate effective oral & verbal communications skills
