This includes managing accounts payable, maintaining the general ledger, ensuring compliance with internal controls, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. This role is critical to maintaining accurate financial records, optimizing cost management, and supporting the overall efficiency of plant operations.

Position Overview

The Plant Accountant at Vantem Clio will oversee essential financial transactions for plant operations. This includes managing accounts payable, maintaining the general ledger, ensuring compliance with internal controls, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. This role is critical to maintaining accurate financial records, optimizing cost management, and supporting the overall efficiency of plant operations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Accounts Payable (AP) Management:
   1. Review and validate supplier invoices to ensure accuracy.
   2. Prepare and process payments in line with company terms.
   3. Perform accounts payable reconciliations to ensure accuracy.
   4. Resolve invoice discrepancies with vendors and departments.
   5. Monitor and allocate expenses accurately across departments.
   6. Maintain AP documentation, including invoices and receipts.
2. General Ledger Management:
   1. Prepare and post journal entries for accurate accounting.
   2. Assist in month-end closing for accurate financial reporting.
   3. Regularly reconcile cash, inventory, fixed assets, and liabilities.
3. Compliance and Internal Controls:
   1. Ensure adherence to internal controls to mitigate risks of errors and fraud.
4. Partner with departments like operations and HR to gather financial data for reporting.
5. ERP System Management:
   1. Use ERP systems to process transactions and generate reports, with NetSuite experience as a plus.
6. Track plant assets, including machinery and vehicles, and record depreciation.
7. Record wages, benefits, and other employee-related expenses.
8. Process Improvement (Desired):
   1. Identify and implement accounting process improvements to enhance efficiency.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field, or equivalent experience.
2. Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
3. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office; experience with NetSuite desired.
4. Experience with accounts payable and receivable, financial reporting, and account reconciliation.
5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
6. Experience in the manufacturing or construction industry is preferred.
