Responsibilities

  • Advance parts through tanks on the washline.
  • Tag parts and move to packing department.
  • Lift packed products to skids for shipment.
  • Count and weigh parts with external threads; stack carefully in boxes.
  • Count drops and adjust bath material to meet specs.
  • Clean and recharge tanks as needed.
  • Operate lab equipment to check phosphate levels and ensure quality.

Job description

General Description

Employees in this job are responsible for cleaning and applying protective coating to manufactured products.



Essential Job Functions and Duties


  • Load and push baskets of parts through the washline. (80%)

  • Receive and load parts from various machinery throughout the plant onto the washline, transferring parts from skids to a hydraulic lift (approximately 2 feet high) manually.

  • Read tags and distinguish through which tanks each bin of parts should go.

  • Advance the parts in baskets or barrels through the tanks on the washline.

  • Tag parts appropriately and advance them on the rollers to the packing department.

  • Lift packed products from the packing line roller assembly to skids prior to shipment from the plant.

  • Weigh counting and stacking parts with external threads by hand. (15%)

  • Any parts with external threads must be careful stacked in boxes by hand, rather than thrown into bins/baskets.

  • Other parts must be weigh counted using scales on shop floor.

  • Operation of lab equipment (5%)

  • Dip sample form each tanks and take to lab.

  • Add chemicals and observe colors to determine correct properties of wash tank.

  • Count drops to make necessary additions/adjustments to bath material to meet quality specifications.

  • Clean and recharge tanks as needed (if bath material is out of specification).
