Job summary

AUTOKINITON is seeking a Quality Leader/Sr. Quality Engineer to guide and supervise the quality function at the Grand Ledge plant. You will lead audits, drive continual improvement, and coordinate with OEMs and suppliers to address quality issues and corrective actions.

Responsibilities include managing SPC and visual management programs, training teams, and reporting key quality metrics. You will report to Plant Management and collaborate with cross-functional teams to sustain IATF-16949

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in related field.
• 5+ years in a Quality leadership or Sr. Quality Engineer role in automotive manufacturing.
• Hands-on quality experience in automotive welding assembly environments.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day Quality activities, concerns, and issues in compliance with standards.
• OEM customer and supplier interface to address Quality issues and corrective actions.
• Lead Quality Auditor for IATF-16949 manufacturing facility audits.
• Manage preventative methods of controlling Quality through SPC, Visual Management, problem solving, and prevention techniques.
• Be part of Plant Management Team as Quality Lead with direct reports.
• Analyze Quality data to set standards and reliability expectations for finished products.
• Create, assess, implement, and monitor Quality training programs for Associates.
• Manage testing and dimensional validation and reporting of key Quality metrics.
• Provide continuous improvement strategies to meet/exceed customer standards.

• Manage day-to-day Quality activities, concerns, and issues in compliance with standards.
• OEM customer and supplier interface to address Quality issues and corrective actions for facility.
• Lead Quality Auditor for IATF-16949 manufacturing facility including audits.
• Manage preventative methods of controlling Quality through SPC, Visual Management, problem solving and prevention techniques, work in process, etc.
• Quality Lead within the multidisciplinary Plant Management Team.
• Analyze Quality statistical data to determine present standards and establish or proposed Quality and reliability expectancy of finished product.
• Create, assess, implement, and monitor Quality training programs for Associates’ in Quality processes, and procedures.
• Management of testing and dimensional validation.
• Manage tracking and reporting of key Quality measurables.
• Provide Quality continuous improvement strategies that meet/exceed company customer standards.
• Create a cohesive Quality Team through mentoring, coaching, constructive performance feedback, and formal/informal training.
• In this role you are part of the Plant Management Team with direct reports (2 Quality Engineers, 2 Quality Supervisors, and Sr. Quality Engineer). You will report to the Plant Manager and support from Corporate Area Quality Manager.

SUCCESS FACTORS:

• Bachelor’s degree (B.A.); or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 5+ years in a Quality leadership or Sr. Quality Engineer within automotive manufacturing.
• Hands-on Quality experience within automotive welding assembly environment.
• Knowledge of IATF-16949 standards, documentation, and certification.
• Exhibit Quality Internal Audit experience in automotive manufacturing.
• Quality experience launching programs including APQP and PPAP.
• Effective Quality leadership within the multi-disciplinary Plant Management Team.
• Demonstrate usage of Visual Management in a stamping and assembly environment.
• Validation of interfacing with OEM customers and suppliers to address Quality issues and determine corrective actions.
• Demonstrate a cohesive leadership style for the Quality Team.
• Proficient verbal/written communication and presentation skills with internal and external customers at all levels.
• Advanced computer skills with MSOffice, Quality and ERP systems.
