Job summary

RRD is seeking a Plant President to lead the development and execution of plans for people, processes, technology, and culture. You will drive safety, quality, productivity and continual improvement while overseeing budgets and strategic goals.

You will supervise a diverse team, manage the sales pipeline, and ensure strong collaboration with corporate leadership. A strong track record in manufacturing leadership is required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Industrial Management, Engineering, Graphic Arts or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years of diversified management experience in printing or manufacturing.
  • Experience leading sales teams is highly desired.
  • Continuous Improvement/Lean skills and experience preferred.
  • Ability to lead a diverse team of sales and operations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the plant to improve sales pipeline, safety, quality, productivity, and waste reduction.
  • Oversee P&L for assigned locations and manage budgets.
  • Develop and implement employee development and training programs.
  • Establish succession plans for critical roles.
  • Guide department managers in operational improvements.
  • Lead the local sales team with strategic and tactical insights.
  • Collaborate with Sales Representatives to acquire new customers.
  • Review and report manufacturing performance to leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, EEO, and regulations.

Job Description

The Plant President provides leadership in the development and execution of plans and strategies for continually improving people, process, technology and culture. The Plant President is responsible for monitoring employee development, equipment performance and utilization, safety practices and other key business indicators; and, working with the site leadership team and business Executives to build and execute on action plans to improve and achieve strategic plans, budgets and other corporate goals.

  • Lead the plant to improved the sales pipeline, safety, quality, productivity and reduction of waste on a consistent and continual basis in each and every process.
  • P&L responsibility for assigned locations, including the preparation and management of capital and operational budgets.
  • Work to improve the performance of employees through consistent and continual leadership in education and training programs.
  • Establish and maintain a viable succession plan for all critical human resources.
  • Provide guidance and direction to department managers regarding the continual improvement of operations for which they have ownership.
  • Lead and manage the local plant Sales team in both strategy and daily, cadenced lead/prospect/client tactical insights, to ensure an effective and viable local sales pipeline.
  • Work with company Sales Representatives from all channels to maintain and acquire new customers for the organization.
  • Review and report on manufacturing activities, performances and results.
  • Initiate team action to identify and remove problems with schedules, excessive costs, materials or other factors affecting quality, safety, service or productivity levels inconsistent with plant continual improvement efforts.
  • Maintain open communication with plant employees and Corporate Staff to improve safety, quality and productivity.
  • Insure compliance with applicable laws and regulations issued by OSHA, EPA, EEO, and other federal, state and local regulatory agencies.
  • Provide reports and feedback of plant performance to Corporate Staff as required.
  • Make recommendations regarding hires, terminations, promotions, transfers, training and merit increases of Plant Personnel.
  • Motivate staff in support of department objectives and timely and effective schedules to ensure production goals.
  • Demonstrate commitment to continual process improvement efforts in order to assure that all customer expectations (internal and external) are exceeded.
  • Perform other related duties and business related as required.

  • Experience leading sales teams highly desired
  • Continuous Improvement/Lean skills/experience highly preferred
Additional Information

RRD's current salary range for this role is $117,000 to $188,400 / year. The salary range may be adjusted based on the applicable geographic location of the hired employee, and the range may change in the future. At RRD, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions may vary based upon, but not limited to education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift and location. Depending on the role, in addition to base salary, the total compensation package may also include participation in a bonus, commission or incentive program.
