Job summary

Bayer in Missouri, Chesterfield, is seeking a Plant Health Co‑Op to advance plant pathology workflows through experimental design, data analysis, and protocol development. You will work with multidisciplinary scientists to analyze plant pathogens, develop lab methods, and generate actionable insights for scalable research pipelines.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an M.Sc. or Ph.D. program (Plant Pathology preferred) with molecular characterization or sequence analysis experience.
• Experience with experimental design and statistical/data analysis using R or Python.
• Strong communication, organization, and ability to work independently in a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform phylogenetic analysis of pathogen collections and isolates.
• Develop markers for detecting plant pathogens.
• Validate characterization protocols under operational conditions.
• Optimize processes for large-scale pathogen production and storage.
• Synthesize and communicate results to project teams and key stakeholders.
