Job summary

Jobot is seeking an experienced Plant Superintendent to oversee all plant operations at our paper mill. You will lead daily processes, supervise staff, and ensure safety, regulatory compliance, and cost-effective production.

The role emphasizes technical expertise in mill machinery, press and calendar rolls, and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate has 8+ years in supervisory manufacturing roles, a relevant degree, strong leadership, and financial acumen to manage budgets and resources.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing plant, preferably in paper.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, safety and environmental guidelines.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate staff.
• Proactive problem solving and continuous improvement mindset.
• Technical ability to troubleshoot and repair plant equipment.
• Strong communication skills to convey information to staff and management.
• Strong financial acumen with budgeting and resource management experience.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily plant operations to ensure smooth, efficient processes.
• Supervise plant personnel and foster a collaborative, safe work environment.
• Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations and implement policies.
• Coordinate with departments to optimize production and performance.
• Manage maintenance and repair of equipment including mill machinery.
• Identify improvement areas and implement cost-saving, quality-boosting strategies.
• Provide technical support and training to staff to ensure competence.
• Develop and manage the plant budget ensuring efficient resource use.
• Report plant performance to senior management with updates and recommendations.
