Liquid Environmental Solutions is seeking a Plant Operator for our wastewater treatment plant in Jacksonville, FL. The role involves hands-on operation of treatment processes, managing equipment, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards.

The position features a floating schedule across shifts, 10- and 8-hour shifts, with overtime and weekends as needed. Wage starts at $24.57/hr with overtime potential, located at Talleyrand, Jacksonville, FL.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 year plant operator experience preferred.
• Laboratory experience strongly preferred.
• Willing to work in environments with strong odors.
• Willing to work in hot, cold, and wet conditions.

Responsibilities

• Manages space for incoming wastewater and treatment of material.
• Performs cleanup of the area as required.
• Checks tank levels for space for material processing.
• Follows safety and environmental rules and regulations.
• Operates and maintains shop equipment.
• Operates heavy equipment including forklift and skid steer.
• May perform minor electrical maintenance functions.

In this hands‑on role, you’ll manage wastewater treatment processes, operate essential equipment, and ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards.

Schedule

• FLOATING schedule over 3 different shifts -- must have availability to cover each of these shifts! (this role covers PTO for other employees throughout the year!)
• 7 AM-4 PM
• Monday through Friday and occasional Saturday’s required
• 10 hour shift
• 8 hour shift
• Day shift
• Monday to Friday
• Overtime
• Weekends as needed

Wage

$24.57/hr with possibility for Overtime

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Manages the space for incoming wastewater and treatment of the material.
• Performs cleanup of the area as required.
• Checks tank levels for necessary space for material processing.
• Follows all safety and compliance rules and regulations.
• Wears and properly uses safety equipment at all times.
• Always works in a safe and compliant manner.
• Operates and maintains shop equipment.
• May perform preventative maintenance on all equipment.
• Operates heavy equipment including forklift truck and skid steer.
• May perform minor electrical maintenance functions.
• Cleans and maintains process equipment.

Education and/or Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent Required.
• One (1) year of experience as a Plant Operator with the maintenance of water pumps and plant machinery Preferred.
• Laboratory experience strongly preferred
• Must be willing to work in environments with strong odors.
• Must be willing to work in hot, cold, and wet conditions.
