Job summary

BHE Renewables in Plattsburgh, NY is seeking a Plant Operator to ensure safe, proper and efficient operation of the plant and process facilities. The role involves operating equipment outside the control room, recording data and reporting abnormalities, plus minor maintenance tasks.

You will assist in coordinating and training new crewmembers, read meters and gauges, perform routine analysis, and communicate daily operations to the control operator.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent experience.
• At least 1 year of outside operator experience preferred.
• Ability to read safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions.
• Ability to write routine reports and communicate clearly.

Responsibilities

• Operate plant equipment outside the control room and monitor conditions.
• Record operational data and report abnormalities promptly.
• Perform minor maintenance tasks and housekeeping.
• Assist in start-up, operation and shutdown of equipment including turbines.
• Coordinate, direct and train new crewmembers as needed.
• Communicate daily operations to control operator and shift relief.
