Job summary

TIB Chemicals AG in Pittsburgh is seeking a Production Operator (Class Two, 2nd Shift) to assist the production team with productivity, packaging, and shipping, and to promote safety on the floor. You will train on and operate equipment such as SS Unloader and flexicon feeder, while supporting day-to-day operations.

The role requires ability to lift over 50 lbs, willingness to work overtime or shifts, and a high school diploma.

SUPERVISORY EXPERIENCE

This position has no direct reports

FUNCTION:
  • To assist the production team with productivity, packaging, and shipping
  • To promote safety in the workforce according to the guidelines and regulations enforced at TIB
  • To continue to evaluate and improve manufacturing techniques in the most economical and cost-effective way without sacrificing product quality
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Train on and operate equipment as needed by TIB. This includes but not limited to SS Unloader, flexicon feeder, hatch charge, floor scales, filter process shrink wrapper, etc.
  • Apply cooperative attitude and support during day-to-day operations in the form of multitasking including but not limited to assisting with production and packaging of material, plant housekeeping, and off-loading of trucks
  • Offer suggestions for process and manufacturing improvements
  • Operating forklift trucks effectively
  • Follow written procedures and assist in making products according to provided work instructions
  • Ensure that product and packages are clean and properly labeled
  • Regular attendance and punctuality
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area by following safety rules, wearing PPE when appropriate, and proactively identifying hazards
  • Capacity to work safely, efficiently and with minimum supervision, once objectives are identified
  • Willingness to follow various government policies, procedures and guidelines as deemed by the Company. (e.g., ISO, DOT, Employee Handbook, etc.)
  • Is accountable and has the ability to work as a team member amongst all levels of TIB. (e.g., ability to build a healthy rapport with direct reports, coworkers, etc. Show respect always and benevolence where necessary, etc.)
  • Willingness to ABL (always be learning) and/or ABT (always be teaching)
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor / management
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • This job operates in an Industrial setting. This role routinely uses manufacturing equipment such as tanks, dryers, centrifuges, pumps, valves, piping, hoists, ladders, filters, and hand tools. This role occasionally uses standard equipment such as computers and phones.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
EQUIPMENT OPERATED:
  • Valves, Pumps, Centrifuges, Dryers, Hand Tools, Fork Trucks, Scales, and other equipment on occasion
POSITION TYPE AND EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:
  • This is a full-time position, and hours of work are 4 (10hr) shifts, with the days being Monday through Thursday
TRAVEL:
  • This position does not require travel
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • High School diploma or General Equivalency Diploma
  • Willingness to work overtime/shifts.
  • Ability to lift greater than 50 lbs.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Industrial manufacturing experience preferred.
  • D.O.T. Training Chemical production experience.
  • Certified fork truck operator or experience operating a fork truck.
