Airgas is seeking a Plant Operator in Star, MS to safely load and package dry ice products, ensuring quality and efficiency in a fast-paced environment.

You will operate production machinery and forklifts, log production data, and help maintain a clean, organized facility. This role requires basic computer skills and the ability to follow directions, with on-call and shift work as part of the schedule.

Qualifications

• 1 year experience in a production/manufacturing environment.
• 1 year of continuous forklift operation in a confined space.
• Able to read and write.
• Basic computer skills.
• Able to understand and follow the direction of supervisors.
• On-call and shift work required.
• High school diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Load and package dry ice products into containers (blocks, pellets, slices) per customer orders.
• Inspect finished products for weight, density, and packaging integrity.
• Operate production machinery and material handling equipment safely.
• Accurately log production numbers, shipping manifests, and inventory usage.

The primary objective of this role is to ensure the safe and efficient loading and packaging of dry ice products in strict adherence to quality control standards. Additionally, this position is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the facility to ensure a safe working environment.Loading & Packaging: Perform the daily loading, weighing, and packaging of dry ice products into various containers (blocks, pellets, slices) based on customer orders.Quality Assurance: Inspect all finished products to ensure they meet the company’s strict quality standards regarding weight, density, and packaging integrity.Equipment Operation: Operate production machinery and material handling equipment (such as forklifts or pallet jacks) safely and efficiently.Documentation: Accurate logging of production numbers, shipping manifests, and inventory usage.WORK ENVIRONMENT The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
