Position Summary
We are seeking a reliable, hands-on Plant Operator based in Houston, Texas. Working directly under the leadership of the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for executing the daily mission plan inside the plant and out in the field. This role requires a blend of processing operations, preventative maintenance, physical stamina, and logistics support.
Schedule Expectations:
This position requires a dedication to operational readiness, including the ability to work weekends and 10-hour daily shifts when necessary.
Key Responsibilities
1. Plant Processing & Operations
- Execute SOPs: Maintain daily plant processing operations by strictly following standard operating procedures (SOPs) for offloading raw materials, processing oil, and preparing outbound logistics loads.
- Inventory & Asset Controls: Help maintain accurate inventory reporting systems for used cooking oil, facility supplies, and tool management.
- Facility Upkeep: Keep the plant processing floor, warehouse, and exterior yard spaces clean, organized, safe, and in good working order.
2. Field Logistics & Bin Maintenance
- Field Deployments: Deliver collection bins to new customer accounts and recover/swap bins requiring maintenance on an as-required basis.
- Asset Refurbishment: Maintain the division's bin inventory by pressure washing, cleaning, and performing minor mechanical repairs on collection bins.
- Fleet Support: Monitor fleet readiness, report safety concerns to management, and complete basic vehicle repairs when necessary.
3. Safety, Compliance & Maintenance
- Safety Protocol: Strictly adhere to and help enforce all plant safety protocols to maintain a zero-spill, accident-free environment.
- Preventative Maintenance (PM): Assist in executing scheduled facility preventative maintenance, tracking repairs, and submitting accurate logs to the Operations Manager.
- Documentation: Complete all daily compliance paperwork, volume logs, and operational tracking sheets accurately and timeously.
Qualifications & Expectations
- Experience: 1–3 years of experience in a plant operations, warehouse, or waste/materials collection role (Preferred).
- Licensing & Compliance: Valid TWIC Card (preferred). A valid CDL Class B License with at least one year of Class B driving experience is preferred.
- Technical Aptitude: Strong basic mechanical and maintenance aptitude, with a specific focus on processing plant maintenance.
- Core Competencies: Strong team player with a focus on consistency, ability to follow verbal and written directions, and precise attention to detail.
- Physical Requirements: Must be physically fit and able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly, work in various weather conditions, and handle hands-on labor in an industrial plant environment.
Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly Rate: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour (Depending on experience and licensing).
- Consistent Schedule: Full-time, steady hourly schedule with opportunities for overtime pay.
