Overview

The Plant Operator is responsible for the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of the plant's equipment and systems. This role provides operational, technical, and maintenance support to ensure smooth daily production. The Plant Operator monitors equipment performance, troubleshoots issues, performs routine maintenance, and ensures compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operational Duties
    • Monitor, operate, and control plant systems, equipment, and production lines.
    • Perform routine inspections of equipment to ensure proper functionality.
    • Record and maintain accurate logs of daily operations, system readings, and production data.
    • Adjust operational parameters to maintain optimal performance and meet production targets.
    • Respond to alarms, system issues, or abnormal operating conditions promptly.
  • Technical Support
    • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, or process-related issues and escalate when needed.
    • Assist in identifying process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce downtime.
    • Support system calibrations, testing procedures, and equipment diagnostics.
    • Collaborate with technicians on repairs, upgrades, and project work.
  • Maintenance Responsibilities
    • Perform routine preventive maintenance on plant equipment as assigned.
    • Assist maintenance technicians with repairs, installations, and overhauls.
    • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment status.
    • Ensure proper use of tools, parts, and materials in accordance with facility standards.
  • Safety & Compliance
    • Adhere to all plant safety policies, procedures, and OSHA regulations.
    • Immediately report hazards, unsafe conditions, or equipment malfunctions.
    • Participate in safety training, emergency drills, and compliance audits.
    • Ensure operations follow environmental, quality, and company guidelines.

    • Willingness to work rotating shifts, occasional weekends, or overtime as needed.
  • Travel Requirements
    • Travel to company plants in Raleigh, Durham, and Wilmington, NC is required.
    • Advance notice will be provided for all travel.
    • A company vehicle will be provided for work-related travel.
  • Work Environment
    • This position operates in a natural material plant setting and may involve exposure to moving machinery, noise, chemicals, or varying temperatures. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required.
