Job summary

Airgas is hiring a Plant Operator in Bloomington, IL to support site operations by safely repackaging, filling, and handling compressed and liquefied gas cylinders. You will operate forklifts and related equipment, perform inspections, and ensure regulatory compliance in daily tasks.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in plant operations, industrial maintenance, or related field is preferred.
• Industrial Gas Experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate warehouse equipment (forklift, pallet jack, hand truck, lift gate) to move cylinder inventory.
• Fill gas cylinders and cryogenic containers to required pressures with precision.
• Conduct pre-fill and post-fill inspections, including CGA valve connections, pressure relief devices, and leak tests.
• Quarantine damaged cylinders and maintain accurate filling, measurement, and inventory records.
