Job summary

Westlake Chemical seeks a Shift Supervisor to directly supervise 6–14 operators in the operations department. The role covers two rotating day shifts on a four-on/four-off schedule and requires interfacing with engineering, plant leadership, maintenance and vendors to ensure objectives are met.

Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, planning and directing work, maintaining production records, and leading safety programs while upholding quality and compliance across operations.

Qualifications

• Four-year engineering degree (Chemical, Mechanical) preferred.
• 2–5 years manufacturing experience with strong operational background.
• US work authorization required.
• Proficiency with Windows-based software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Ability to research/resolve problems and work independently.

Responsibilities

• Directs 6–14 operators, ensuring safe, efficient plant operations.
• Interfaces with engineering, plant leadership, maintenance and vendors to meet objectives.
• Maintains production records and prepares daily reports.
• Performs performance reviews and manages training and development of staff.
• Ensures product quality and compliance with safety/environmental standards.
