Position Overview
The Plant Operations Manager provides strategic and hands-on leadership for plant operations, ensuring safe, efficient, high-quality, and cost-effective manufacturing performance. This role oversees key functions including Weaving, Finishing, Warehouse, Quality, and Maintenance while driving operational excellence, continuous improvement, and employee development.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead daily plant operations and establish priorities aligned with customer demand and business objectives.
- Drive safety, quality, productivity, delivery, cost, and operational performance.
- Partner cross-functionally with Planning, Supply Chain, Sales, and other teams to meet production requirements.
- Monitor key manufacturing metrics including output, efficiency, downtime, scrap, labor utilization, and equipment effectiveness.
- Develop and hold teams accountable to clear performance expectations.
- Lead quality improvement efforts, including root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and customer quality requirements.
- Develop proactive preventive and predictive maintenance practices to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
- Lead Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing waste, improving process flow, and increasing productivity.
- Support capital planning and provide operational recommendations for equipment and facility investments.
- Develop talent, strengthen teamwork, and build a culture of accountability, communication, and continuous improvement.
- Serve as a key operational and quality contact for customers as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field.
- 7+ years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience, preferably in textile, upholstery, or a related industry.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing operations, safety, quality, maintenance, and production planning.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive measurable operational results.
- Strong communication, relationship-building, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma experience/certification.
- Experience developing preventive or predictive maintenance programs.
- Experience leading continuous improvement initiatives in a manufacturing environment.
Work Environment
- Onsite in Reidsville, North Carolina, with domestic and international travel as needed.
- Combination of professional office and manufacturing plant environments.
- Must comply with all company safety policies and facility requirements.
