Job summary

Altium Packaging is seeking a Plant Manager to direct daily operations of production and maintenance teams at our Argos, Indiana facility. You will ensure efficient, safe performance and compliance with GMP and corporate quality standards while meeting customer requirements.

You will lead shift teams, drive preventive maintenance, manage scheduling, and collaborate with customers and leadership to achieve continuous improvement and on-time deliveries.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or operations management is required.
  • 5–7 years of production management experience in manufacturing.
  • Experience with ERP/integrated management systems.
  • Bilingual in French and English (if applicable) and strong communication.
  • Proficient with Office suite and IT skills.
  • Verbal and written communication skills in French and English at intermediary level.
  • Inspirational leadership and change management experience.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement, health and safety and quality.
  • Ability to manage multiple files independently and with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Champion a safety culture and maintain a safe work environment.
  • Direct and coordinate activities of production and maintenance staff.
  • Establish processes for rapid response to mechanical needs.
  • Plan routine preventive maintenance of blow mold and packaging equipment.
  • Execute production schedules to meet requirements.
  • Guide shift leaders to ensure timely, efficient plant operations.
  • Maintain procedures for inventory of finished goods and raw materials.
  • Interview candidates and authorize hires and personnel actions.
  • Lead problem-solving and process improvement with the plant and customers.
  • Ensure successful new product launches with clear specs and process capability.
  • Audit facility for GMP compliance and quality standards.
  • Provide guidelines for timely repair and maintenance of equipment."
  • Routinely monitor performance reports to ensure effective operations.
  • Develop staff knowledge and training documentation.
  • Drive execution of assigned projects with timely completion.
  • Overtime may be required.

Job Summary

Under the direction of a Plant Manager, directs the daily operations for production and maintenance departments. Monitoring both departments ensuring they are operating for efficiently and safely, while ensuring all applicable regulatory requirements are met.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Champion a safety culture, ensure a safe work environment and cultivate safe behavior.
  • Direct and coordinate activities of employees engaged in the production or processing of goods, such as blow mold machine operators, maintenance mechanics, quality inspectors and warehouse workers.
  • Establish process to ensure technicians respond quickly to mechanical needs.
  • Organize and plan the routine preventive maintenance of blow mold and packaging machines and conveyor systems.
  • Execute production schedules to meet company and customer requirements.
  • Provide guidance and direction to shift leaders to ensure timely and efficient plant operations.
  • Maintain procedures for accurate inventory of finished goods and raw materials.
  • Interview employment candidates and authorize personnel hires. Authorize employment actions of plant personnel.
  • Lead problem-solving and process improvement with the plant and customer to achieve resolution and elimination of product issues.
  • Provide for successful new product launches by ensuring clear specification development, process capability definition, and attainment of customer satisfaction on initial shipments.
  • Audit facility for compliance with GMP standards and maintain plant in compliance with corporate quality requirements.
  • Provide guidelines to ensure timely repair and efficient predictive and preventive maintenance of equipment and machinery.
  • Routinely monitor shift and individual machine performance reports and processes to ensure effective operations.
  • Develop and improve the knowledge and skills of immediate staff and hourly personnel; maintain training and development documentation.
  • Drive execution of assigned projects to ensure accurate and timely completion.
  • Other duties as assigned by plant management.
  • Reasonable mandatory overtime may be required due to business needs.
Skills And Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or in operations management
  • Five to seven years of experience in production management in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience of working with an integrated management system (ERP);
  • Bilingual
  • Proficient in using the Office suite, good IT skills
  • Verbal and written communication skills in French and English to intermediary level.
