Omya Inc. is seeking a Plant Operations Manager to direct day-to-day production activities, ensuring high-quality finished products and maximum equipment performance. The role emphasizes safe practices and leadership for the production team.

The manager will drive continuous improvement, coordinate with maintenance, manage scheduling, and oversee inventory to meet customer requirements while adhering to applicable regulations.

Qualifications

  • Baccalaureate degree in mining, mechanical, electrical or civil engineering or commensurate education and experience.
  • Understand industrial manufacturing and solve process-related problems.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills.
  • Good written and oral communication and general management skills.
  • Able to work with supervisors and other department managers.
  • Familiar with PCs and application software, including automatic process control.
  • Capable of integrating existing methods with new innovations to solve production problems.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain safe working conditions to achieve zero lost time injuries.
  • Provide leadership and training to maintain high professional standards.
  • Conduct performance appraisals and enforce disciplinary practices.
  • Coordinate and schedule operating hours for production equipment and personnel.
  • Maintain inventory control of finished products.
  • Ensure production equipment operates at optimum performance to reduce costs.
  • Drive continuous improvement within area of responsibility.
  • Coordinate maintenance requests and ensure completion.
  • Generate production reports to determine rates, run times and downtime.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state and local regulations.
  • Work swing shifts as needed.
  • Perform duties of manager in their absence and attend daily staff meetings.
  • Other duties as assigned.
